Four river valleys. Four shrines. One pilgrimage across the Garhwal Himalaya.
Uttarakhand’s Char Dham brings together Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath across the Garhwal Himalayas. The commonly followed sequence moves from the western Yamuna valley through Gangotri and the Bhagirathi before crossing toward the Mandakini valley for Kedarnath and finishing beside the Alaknanda at Badrinath.

Yamunotri and Gangotri centre the opening part of the pilgrimage around the Yamuna and Bhagirathi/Ganga traditions before the journey moves through the Mandakini and Alaknanda valleys.
